6. To sum up, our position is that we have no particular desire to enter into a fresh contract with the Banks, and we are prepared to do so only on our own terms. The Banks are at liberty to accept or decline those terms: their decision will be a matter of comparative indifference to us.
7. With regard to the remarks in the penultimate paragraph of the Banks' letter of the 15th of June, we may mention that the proposal, to which they refer, to abolish the Calcutta Mint has been abandoned.
